Lost in Translation

I watched "Lost in Translation" on DVD.It was a sort of a melodrama which is set in Tokyo, and is about an old Hollywood star who comes to Tokyo to shoot a wisky commercial and to take a break from his wife. He meets a married young woman who is staying at the same hotel as him with her husband. They felt sympathy for each other because they were feeling lonely, This attracted them to each other. The lead actor wasn't so attractive. But the couple went around the city and showed me an attractive side of Tokyo. It looked so beautiful, lively and natural.I guess writer of the script really knows about Japan well and its real attraction.

Flight to Canada

I'm planing to visit Canada this October to see the autumn foliage with my friends.Autumn is the most popular season, so we haven't reserved our tickets yet.One of my friends is good at finding tickets on the internet, so she taught me how to do that.My English teachers told me about that and got me interested. This weekend I'm going to look for available tickets on the internet.

Typhoon!

A typhoon passed by the Kanto region today.
It was supposed to reach and hit Tokyo this evening, so I was scared and worried that I wouldn't arrive home safely.
My boss asked my colleagues and I to stop working and get back home soon.

I arrived home earlier than usual, so I had enough free time to watch TV. While I was watching the typoon on the news, I saw many people who were still at Tokyo Disney Land and most of them were staying until it closed.
I was very surprised how energetic those people were, wow!!

Tanabata

Today was the Star Festival called "Tanabata".
This is based on a Chinese legend where two lovers, Alter and Vega, are separated by the Milky Way and can only meet once a year on this special day.
Children write their wishes (especially what they want to be good at) and put them on bamboo trees. I saw many colorfully decorated bamboo trees on display around here.
I heard about another way to have good luck on this day. If people make a wish about their ideal romance as they're looking up to starry skies on this day, their wish will come true.
Unfortunately, tonight is cloudy and I can't see any stars from here. But the story sounds so sweet and romantic. I hope I'll be able to see a lot of shining stars next year.

Peach's Blue Sky

I had a ukulele lesson today.
We learned how to play our teacher's new original song called "Lele's blue sky" which has recently been played on TV.
The lyrics are about a boy and his first ukulele. It sounds SO sweet and also cheers me up when I'm down. I really love this song. So now I want to be able to play and sing this song nicely...

Potsticker Party!!

I went to eat potstickers with my friends. Actually it was my friend's party.
The restaurant is very popular and the potstickers were so mouth-watering.
I enjoyed them with chilled beer, but I think that maybe rice is also a good match for them. So I'm wandering if I should order rice instead of beer next time, if I have the chance.
Whilst I was chatting with my friends, we promised each other to exercise to develop our abdominal muscles EVERYDAY.
I will do that from tomorrow! So it's time for bed, sweet dreams...

Deep-ocean water bath

I went to Johgashima island again.
I was going to see an old lighthouse that I have missed this May.
There is also a nice bath using deep-ocean hot water.
It contains lots of minerals, so it's claimed that the bath is beneficial for your skin.
From the bath, I could see the ocean. The sea breeze was so comfortable.
After that, I ate a bowl of juicy tuna with rice. It was so yummy and was beyond my expectations.
Best of all, I could see Mt. Fuji from the island. As I was gazing at it, I thought how beautiful and awe-inspiring it was!!
I was really refreshed today.
Well, I'm going to a summer sale tomorrow!!

Studying over the internet

As I was reading email magazines, I came across a surprising online English school. The teachers are living in the Philippines and students in Japan talk to them over the internet. The monthly tuition is very cheap. If you only pay 4,000 yen a month, you can attend classes everyday. (But it's limited to one lesson a day.) I'm still surprised by the unique system. Who could ever come up with such a super nice idea??!! The person must be a genius, wow....
