Juanes

He's cool, isn't he?
Is he so popular also in your country?

I'm studying Spanish on the radio almost every morning, and on TV every Thursday night.
At each lesson, both teachers show me popular songs sung in Spanish. Sometimes they choose old-fashioned music , like Julio Iglesias who my mother really liked, but last Thursday's song was "La Camisa Negra" by Juanes from Colombia.
I liked it instantly. I was captivated by its rhythm and his cool voice.
To be honest, at that time, I didn't know how popular he was all over the world.

It's fun to sing with him and wonder what they mean.
I just understand the meaning of "tengo la camisa negra (I have the black shirt)".
The rest of the lyrics? I dunno!

......yet.

  • Hey Peach,

yes, Juanes is still known in Germany, "La camisa negra" is small popular here, too. Some months, the song was more popular in Germany.

Actual, the group "Shanadoo" is become popular in Germany, especially by younger people. They are japanese Girls and are singing their songs in Japanese. My sister ordered there first Maxi-CD at Amazon.de yesterday.

Good luck with your spanish studies!!

    Fabi

I didn't know "Shanadoo" at all.
Then, I checked it out on Google. They don't look like Japanese, but their singing is definitely natural Japanese. I'm happy to know that your sister are enjoying songs sung in Japanese.
    Please say hello to her:)

  • Gasolina is a horrible song, stop listening to ti now!!! hahahaha It's a horrible song really.
And it's about sex, "tu quieres gasolina..." "te doy mi gasolina" (you want gasoline? i give you my gasoline..)(how is the thing you use to put gasoline? it's a long tube. ok, and where do you put it? in a hole) (get it now? ;))

I don't like Juanes, I find them quite annoying... a lot of people like them here though :P

    Oh, my....!!!! Embarrasing!!!
It's really dangerous to say "I like the song called GASOLINE. It's such a nice powerful song"
    Be careful, Erika! Cuidado!
